Loss of a loved one

Get support from SSAFA during your bereavement

You just never think it will be you that needs help. The last couple of years have certainly given me a new outlook on life.

- Mandy, RAF Veteran

How can SSAFA help me when a loved one has passed away?

If you lose someone who has previously served in our Armed Forces, or you are ex-Forces and you lose someone, then SSAFA is committed to supporting you during your bereavement.

Everyone needs different support when they are grieving. If you need emotional support, our volunteers can be there to listen as you come to terms with your loss. If you are struggling with finances or your personal circumstances change following your loss, they can look for ways to assist you with practical challenges and may be able to get you help with the financial costs associated with your situation, such as moving house.
